Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are all types of Motorcycles welcome?
A: Yes! - Cruiser and Touring bikes are welcome but riders of larger machines must accept the limits of their bikes and ride them accordingly. "We love to see baggers and cruiser grinding!"
Q: What if I am a Novice Rider? Will I get some extra help?
A: I would first recommend our Sport Riding 101 class. We offer two twenty minute classroom sessions held after the riders meeting in the AM and after Lunch in the PM. Our corner workers and on track riders monitor performance and we have been know to pull riders off and help them through an issue or two.
Q: Will this cost much?
A: Private Track Time days average about $155 per day or less. PTT also works closely with dealerships and clubs to allow them access to the track at an excellent value.
Q: How much track time will I get?
A: Most riders will average at least 100 miles
Q: What happens if my bike breaks down?
A: I'm sorry we all take the risk of coming out to the track and if your bike goes south talk to
the PTT staff but please remember at the end of the day the bills still need to be paid. In general since PTT keeps numbers low and prices down we do not offer refunds to riders who crash out of a day or have a mechanical problem.
Q: What if I crash?
A: While PTT does everything possible to ensure a pleasant experience trackside, crashes are a risk we must all accept. In general, most crashes only result in damage to your motorcycle (and ego). Assuming you are unhurt, and your bike is "repairable" at the track, you may re-tech and continue with your track day.
Q: Is tire service available?
A: There should be tire service available at most PTT events.
Q: What if it is raining that day?
A: PTT runs rain or shine. Most tracks charge us full price when the first rider goes on track. If it is raining that day, SHOW UP and register. If you fail to appear, and we cancel the event, you will NOT receive a refund. If we cancel the track day, a full refund will be issued to all riders present. We will make any decision to cancel the event that morning.
Q: Is gas available at the track?
A: Gas is available at many of the tracks PTT uses. However, be aware that trackside gas is often significantly more expensive, so we suggest that you bring extra gas on your own.
Q: Can I rent leathers from PTT?
A: No, PTT does not have any equipment for rent, however, we may be able to put you in touch with dealers or sponsors who may have equipment for rent.
Q: What tire pressure should I run?
A: Generally, 30-32 psi front and 28-30 psi rear are ok overall settings. These tire pressures are only SUGGESTIONS. Check with your tire manufacturers representative or website for more information.
Q: How long is the track open?
A: Most of our tracks open at 7am and end the day at 4:30/5:00pm
Q: Is there Food/drink available at the track?
A: Most venues have concessions available on premises. Additionally, PTT offers a limited supply of water, sports drinks and snacks at no charge.
Q: What time does Registration/Tech open?
A: Registration by group begins no later than 7:30am, tech opens by 7:45am.
Q: What other equipment should I bring?
A: Chair, Sunshade, water, snack, gas, sunscreen, change of underwear, tools, tape.
Q: How long is each session?
A: Each session is between 15 and 20 minutes continuing on a rotating basis throughout the day.
